Boston University's Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation and the School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry are partnering together in conjunction with Bayridge Hospital for a series of seminars that promote a comprehensive and integrated approach to health and mental health care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. These seminars inform practitioners and decision makers about needs and strategies, as well as demonstrate effective models of service delivery that bridge that gap between medicine, psychiatry, and rehabilitation.

Focus on practical and effective approaches to medication issues; combining sound medical practice with consumer choice for positive results; addressing balance in medications for medical and psychiatric conditions; addressing risk-benefit analysis in medication planning.

Illness Management and Recovery -- Innovative Approaches: Health Curriculum and Evidence-Based Practices
Focus on use of an evidence-based health curriculum; results from an innovative education- based program; and research on nurse practitioner interventions at a large mental health center.
ACCREDITATION
All sessions offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for physicians. Nurse Practitioner, Nursing, & Psychology credits are being applied for. Professional Development Program certificates are available for Social Work, Rehab Counseling and Licensed Mental Health Counselors.
