The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) will be hosting University of Virginia's R.I.S.E. R.I.S.E stands for Resolving Issues through Support and Education. This is a peer counseling program made up of African-American students whose purpose is to create a venue to discuss issues that all college students deal with. From body image to depression, the entire gambit of college issues is addressed. But most importantly, it removes the thought that asking for help is wrong. They have established an environment where no problem is belittled.

Join us as the students share more about their dynamic program. The presentation is held as part of SAMHSA/CMHS's National Mental Health Anti-Stigma Campaign to foster greater acceptance of people with mental illnesses. The Campaign is initially targeting young adults who have friends with mental health problems. For more information, see: www.whatadifference.samhsa.gov.
