Dear Friends,

The Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Deputy Director. The purpose of this letter is to request your assistance in identifying potential candidates for this important post.

The Deputy Director, CMHS, shares responsibility with the Director in providing a national focus for the promotion of mental health, the prevention and treatment of mental illnesses, and the improvement of systems of care for adults with serious mental illnesses and children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances. The Deputy Director also supports the Director in planning, directing, and monitoring the programs and activities of the Center, which has 120 employees and a budget of nearly $900 million.
