.4 Million Available for Treatment of Pregnant and Postpartum Women
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announces the availability of FY 2006 funds for grants to expand the availability of comprehensive, high quality residential treatment services for pregnant and postpartum women who suffer from alcohol and other drug use problems, and for their minor children impacted by prenatal and environmental effects of maternal substance use and abuse.
It is expected that that .4 million will be available to fund up to 8 awards in FY 2006. Annual awards are expected to be $500,000 per year in total costs for up to three years. The actual amount may vary, depending on the availability of funds. The grants will be awarded by SAMHSA's Center for Substance Abuse Treatment.
WHO CAN APPLY: Domestic and public and private nonprofit entities such as state and local governments; federally recognized tribes; state recognized tribes; urban Indian organizations; public or private universities and colleges; community- and faith-based organizations; and tribal organizations.
