Funding Self-Directed Care in Mental Health and Helping People Make It Happen. Implementation at the local level.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) is pleased to invite you to participate in an interactive webcast of the Self Direction Education Project

The May 25, 2005 webcast will focus on the FUNDING. How Individuals and States can find the financial tools needed to convert current practices or demonstrate ways that will create systemic change that embraces self direction as it relates to Mental Health. This webcast allows more time for questions and answers than the two previous webcasts.

Speakers:

Marguerite Schervish, JD
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services She will speak about Medicaid's efforts that support Self Direction as it relates to Mental Health.

Jackie Golden
Project Director for the SDEP
She will speak on Self-Directed Support Corporations similar to microboards and how these can be used by individuals needing supports in their recovery.

Michael Hlebechuk
Real Choice System's Change Grant Support Coordinator- Oregon Michael will speak about Oregon's Brokerage efforts, as well as person centered planning approaches.
