Teleconference on Men, Trauma, Trauma and Homelessness: Paths to Recovery

On Tuesday, May 18, from 2-4 pm EDT, the SAMHSA administered PATH program will hold a national presentation on men, trauma, and homelessness. Roger Fallot and David Freeman from Community Connections in Washington, DC, will present a "trauma-informed" approach to homelessness services, focusing on the particular experiences and needs of male trauma survivors. The presenters will discuss the relationship between abuse and homelessness; the wide-ranging impact of interpersonal violence on men's lives; and ways to use knowledge about trauma to strengthen approaches to outreach and engagement. This is the first of a two-part national teleconference. The second part will take place on June 15, 2004.

This live presentation will be broadcast from the PATH website http://www.pathprogram.samhsa.gov. The link will go live at 1:30 pm EDT.

A flyer has been developed which can be posted or forwarded to interested colleagues. The flyer can be found at http://www.prainc.com/uploads/broadcasts/flyer504.doc
