Million Available for Community Action Grants for Exemplary Mental Health Programs

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is accepting applications for mental health community action grants to promote the adoption of exemplary mental health practices in communities around the country. These are Phase II grants open only to successful Phase I grantees.

Phase I of the program supported the development of consensus among key stakeholders in a community to adopt an exemplary practice. Phase II supports implementation through infrastructure development, training, program adaptation and evaluation. There will be six or seven awardees under this announcement who will receive one-year grants of up to $150,000 total.

WHO CAN APPLY: Only former or current Community Action Grant Phase I grantees may apply.

HOW TO APPLY: Community Action Grants, Phase II (RFA-SM 03-007), sponsored by SAMHSA's Center for Mental Health Services, is available on SAMHSA's web site at www.samhsa.gov or by phone from SAMHSA's Clearinghouse at 1-800-789-2647.
