Creating Trauma-Informed Service Systems
A FREE web-based teleconference series designed to support providers, consumers, researchers and policymakers in working together to transform service systems to make them more effective in supporting recovery from trauma. These calls will highlight emerging issues and disseminate best practices, helping us to apply new knowledge and close the gap between science and service.
"Trauma-Specific Group Treatment Models: Four Models of Integrated Trauma Treatment from the Women, Co-Occurring Disorders and Violence Study"

SAMHSA's Women, Co-Occurring Disorders and Violence Study provided evidence of the effectiveness of trauma-informed, integrated treatment. This teleconference will present information about the four trauma-specific group interventions implemented in the nine study sites: Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM), Addiction and Trauma Recovery Integration Model (ATRIUM), Seeking Safety, and TRIAD. The President's New Freedom Commission Report highlights the importance of involving consumers as key partners in the planning and delivery of recovery-oriented systems of care. This teleconference will discuss the benefits and challenges of partnership with trauma survivors, provide models and strategies for mobilizing leadership of people with lived experience of trauma, and give examples of successful partnerships with local and state agencies. Come hear the firsthand experiences of nationally recognized consumers and trauma survivors in dialogue with professionals committed to implementing partnership models.

"Adapting Trauma Treatment for Special Populations: Guidance and Case Studies"

This teleconference will provide information and guidance about adapting trauma treatment models to meet the needs of specific populations. Two case studies from the Women, Co-Occurring Disorders and Violence Study will be presented: a formal adaptation to meet the needs of Latina women, and an informal adaptation to meet the needs of African American women. Come participate in a lively discussion about the experience of adapting trauma treatment models for special populations, from the perspective of consumers and providers.
