Objectives:
1) Conceptualize "depression" as a disorder which spans a spectrum
of
nine distinct presentations of mood disorder;
2) Integrate diagnostic interviewing for mood disorders and the mental
status examination to develop a thorough clinical and diagnostic
interview;
3) Assess for and establish risk of suicide according to symptom
presentation, clinical history and social context;
4) Cite three ways in which the rural context can impact the clinical
picture and suicide risk.
