.4 Million Available to Fund 21 Awards for Mental Health Programs for Children and Adolescents
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) today announced the availability of fiscal year 2007 funds for grants to enable those affected by mental illness to influence states to orient mental health programs to the needs of children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances, and their families.
It is expected that .4 million will be available to fund 21 grants for the Statewide Family Network Program. This program builds on earlier programs that helped establish a child and family focus in programs serving children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances. These three-year grants are designed to provide further support to enable these networks to take part in state and local mental health services planning and health care reform activities that will result in improved community-based services for children and adolescents.
WHO CAN APPLY: Eligible applicants include domestic, public and private nonprofit entities, including faith-based organizations, tribal organizations; and currently funded Statewide Family Network grantees.
