Based on a survey of state insurance departments, Republican staffers on the U.S. Senate Health, Education Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee have prepared a chart depicting the children-only health insurance market. The chart outlines whether insurers have left the state’s market, when they did so, and whether any insurers are currently offering child-only policies in the state. The authors found that insurers in 34 states have stopped offering child-only policies, and 20 states now have no insurers offering such policies.
