A survey conducted by researchers at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and published in the New England Journal of Medicine, found that 73 percent of doctors favor public-sponsored health care, with 10 percent favoring a single-payer system and 63 percent favoring a public plan option. The survey, which was conducted between June and September, found support for a public plan among all doctor types, including primary care physicians, specialists, urban and rural doctors, and members of the American Medical Association (AMA).
