Episodes of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment under a Managed Behavioral Health Care Carve-out

This study of Massachusetts state employees found that managed behavioral health care carve outs were associated with lower per-episode treatment costs and increased utilization of outpatient care for individuals with mental health conditions.
