The Archives of Internal Medicine (AIM) published a study examining the impact of the Medicare Part D program on seniors’ out-of-pocket (OOP) spending on prescription drugs. The study found that the program successfully reduced OOP spending, particularly for seniors who did not have prescription coverage before the program. However, the authors question whether the program’s high cost makes it worthy of public support.
