This study assess the impact of early psychosis (EP) treatment on suicide risk. The study finds that, though suicide risk was not lower for the treatment group over the entire 8.5 year follow-up period, after adjusting for other socio-demographic, clinical and treatment factors, suicide risk was 50% lower in the first 3 years following first contact with mental health services among those exposed to specialized EP treatment.
