A survey of 631 employers in Colorado and Wyoming by the Denver-based Mountain States Employers Council found that employer’s premiums for policies covering their workers have risen an average of 7 percent since 2009.  The survey found that employers pay an average of 85 percent of the cost of health insurance premiums for their workers, which has remained largely unchanged over the past three years.  The survey also found a steady increase in the number of employers offering Health Spending Accounts, with 27 percent of employers offering them in 2010, up from 21 percent in 2009, 18 percent in 2008, 15 percent in 2007, and 7 percent in 2006.
