The Kaiser Family Foundation released a brief comparing Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage under the Senate Finance Committee health reform bill and the House Tri-Committee bill.
From the report:
The America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 (the House bill) and America’s Healthy Future Act of 2009 (the Senate Finance proposal) include an individual requirement to obtain health insurance, a Medicaid expansion and subsidies to help low-income individuals buy coverage through an Exchange. This analysis looks at the provisions related to Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) compared to current law. Some of key differences between the two proposals are: Medicaid coverage, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage, maintenance of eligibility (MOE), Medicaid financing & benefits and access.
