Categories: | | |

Topics: Employer-Sponsored Coverage | Individual Coverage | Medicaid | Medicare | Mental Health | Prescription Drugs | Spending

This study outlines spending on mental health from 1986 to 2003 by provider, payer, and relative cost of total health spending. An increase in individuals receiving mental health treatment—particularly prescription drugs and outpatient care—accounts for the increase in mental health spending over the past decade.
