Mental Health/Substance Abuse Treatment in Managed Care: The Massachusetts Medicaid Experience

This article presents an analysis of the Massachusetts’ Medicaid managed care program including its effect on expenditures, access, and quality of care.  The study observed a 22 percent reduction in expenditures over predicted non-managed care levels.
