Prescription Drugs and the Changing Patterns of Treatment for Mental Disorders, 1996-2001

This article analyzes mental health and substance abuse treatment from 1996 to 2001 focusing on utilization patterns and prescription drugs trends.  Prescription drug use increased over the five year period causing spending on prescription drugs to grow nearly 20 percent per year.
