This article from Health Affairs examines the affect that the 2007-2009 recession has had on the uninsured rate in the United States. As the the majority of residents depend upon employer's to provide health insurance, greater unemployment has resulted in many people going without insurance. The report discusses which populations were most affected and which populations were able to take most advantage of social programs targetting individuals affected by the recession.
