The Impact of Parity on Major Depression Treatment Quality in the Federal Employees' Health Benefits Program

Categories: | |

Topics: FEHBP | Legislation (National) | Mental Health | Parity | Quality | Regulation | Treatment

This study determined that there were some improvements in quality of care for individuals with major depressive disorder as a result of mental health parity in the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program; however, the authors highlight the limits of parity.  The authors conclude that efforts over and above parity legislation are required to greatly improve quality of depression care.
