The Commonwealth Fund released a brief offering a detailed timeline of the national health care reform law. The brief outlines the law's key provisions that affect health insurance, offers a brief explanation of them, and indicates when they will be implemented.
From the report:
Health
care reform legislation—the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the
Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act (“the Affordable
Care Act” or “the ACA”)—includes numerous provisions to expand access to health
insurance, improve the quality and comprehensiveness of coverage, and make
coverage more affordable for all Americans. This timeline outlines when the
various health insurance provisions will go into effect; click on the dates to
see the provisions that will be implemented during that year.
