Public Comments Requested on National Registry Expansion
SAMHSA recently announced the proposed expansion of the National
Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP). The announcement
was published in the Federal Register dated August 26.
Now a nationally recognized tool, NREPP is useful for identifying
and promoting effective interventions to prevent substance abuse.
The proposed expansion will create a national resource for the latest
information on the scientific basis and practicality of interventions
to prevent and also treat mental and substance use disorders.
To participate in review and public comments, read the Federal
Register notice as well as other supporting documents, which
are available on the SAMHSA Web site at modelprograms.samhsa.gov/
template.cfm?page=nreppover.
Written comments can be sent by U.S. mail to SAMHSA,
c/o NREPP Notice, 1 Choke Cherry Road, Rockville, MD
20857 or electronically at nrepp.comments@samhsa.hhs.gov.
