Detailed Instructions for Searching

You can search the database by any or all of the specified characteristics.

  • Searching by Date: Specify a specific range of dates by entering a start date in the “From:” box and an end date in the “To:” box. To search all records before a specific date, leave the “From:” box blank and enter the specified end date in the “To:” box. To search all records after a specific date, enter the specified start date in the “From:” box and leave the “To:” box blank.

  • Searching by State: Select the State or States you want to search (select multiple States by pressing and holding the Control key). Searching multiple States will return records from all of the specified States. Selecting ALL STATES will return all information in the database that meets the other search criteria. To search for National reports, select National as the State.

  • Searching by Keyword: Select the keyword or keywords you want to search (select multiple keywords by pressing and holding the Control key). Searching multiple keywords will return records from all of the specified keywords. Selecting ALL KEYWORDS will return all information in the database that meets the other search criteria.

  • Full Text Searching: Enter the exact word or phrase to find in the database. This feature will search all records for the specified search terms.

  • Searching by Multiple Terms: To search by a combination of characteristics, specify the information in each field as indicated above. You may select, at the same time, a single date or range of dates along with one or more States and/or keywords. For example, you may select all records from January 1, 2000, for Alabama and Alaska with Access and Accreditation as keywords. You will receive information about both States and both keywords from January 1, 2000, to the present. You may also combine this feature with a range of dates and full text searching.

The information in this database does not reflect the official position of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, or any corporate position of The Lewin Group or its parent company, Quintiles Transnational Corporation.
