Invest in Kids
303-839-1808 exit disclaimer

Invest in Kids (IIK) improves the health and well-being of vulnerable children and families throughout Colorado. Working in partnership with local communities, IIK identifies, introduces, implements and ensures the success of research-based, proven programs. What makes Invest in Kids different is its unique approach to finding, delivering and measuring the effectiveness of the programs we provide. Invest in Kids works as an intermediary between research and practice, dedicated to ensuring replication outcomes remain consistent with research outcomes.

Through its presence in communities across the state, IIK realized the need for a program that would address the social and emotional development needs of young children who were entering school unprepared to learn and succeed. Recognizing this led IIK on a national search for a program that would best address this need, and to find The Incredible Years, an early childhood emotional and social health program designed to increase a child’s success at school and at home by promoting positive parent, teacher, and child relationships.

Since 2002 IIK has served 23,945 children and families through this program. IIK Consultants use fidelity checklists with the teachers and parent group leaders who implement the IY Program to ensure adherence to the program model components. Along with the IIK Consultants’ checklists, teachers and parent group leaders complete a self-reflection on their implementation. Both of these fidelity measures guide the IIK Consultant on the technical assistance to provide to the teacher and parent group leader. IIK has demonstrated a direct link between fidelity and outcomes, and has shown researched implementation strategies are required to guarantee evidence based program results.
