SAMHSA's Office of Applied Studies (OAS) provides a range of recent data related to mental illness, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. The OAS collects and reports on national and State data to assist policymakers, treatment providers and patients make informed decisions regarding the prevention and treatment of mental and substance use disorders. The OAS also provides a website that helps program administrators, researchers, and others with Internet access to run their own data analysis with OAS public use files without using specialized software.
