This article addresses the creation of an agency's integrated mental illness and substance abuse co-occurring disorders assessment and treatment program. The article focuses on the barriers and strategies encountered. Results showed that resolving barriers between Assertive Community Treatment and Dual-Diagnosis programs was important to implementation of this program.
