Prevalence of Substance Use Among Racial & Ethnic Subgroups in the U.S.


This publication was developed jointly by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, (SAMHSA)  Office of Applied Studies (OAS), and the National Opinion Research Center (NORC), under contract # 283-95-0002. Dean R. Gerstein was the NORC principal investigator and Janet Greenblatt was the OAS project officer. Authors of the report were Robert A. Johnson and Cindy Larison of NORC. Helena Bacellar and Wai Choy made significant contributions in the early stages of the work. Janet Greenblatt and Joseph Gfroerer of OAS also participated in the data analysis and chapter preparations. Suzanne Erfurth and Leslie Boulay reviewed, edited, and produced the report.
