2006-2008 NSDUH Substate Estimates of Substance Use and Mental Disorders

Substate estimates for 22 measures of substance use and mental disorders based on the combined 2006, 2007, and 2008 National Surveys on Drug Use and Health (NSDUHs) are provided. NSDUH is an ongoing survey of the civilian, noninstutionalized population of the United States aged 12 years or older. All estimates presented here are based on a small area estimation (SAE) methodology in which substate-level NSDUH data are combined with county and census block group/tract-level data from the State. State-specific tables showing substate region prevalence estimates for 22 measures of substance use and mental disorders are provided along with 95% confidence intervals for persons aged 12 or older for the substance use measures, persons aged 18 or older for the mental disorder measure, and persons aged 12 to 20 for two alcohol measures.
