Chapter 2's Figure 7 is a line and marker chart depicting drug poisoning deaths per 100,000 people by 5-year age groups for 1995 for three categories of drugs: drugs, opiates, and cocaine. The graph shows a similar distribution of deaths by drug category, with the highest number of deaths in each drug category occurring between the ages of 35 and 44 when there were approximately 4,000 opiate-related and 2,000 cocaine-related poisoning deaths.
