Figure 4.2 is titled "Past Month Use of Tobacco Products, by Age: 2004." It is a bar graph, where the type of tobacco product is shown on the horizontal axis, and the percentage using in the past month is shown on the vertical axis. The four types of tobacco products are cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, and pipes. For each type of tobacco product, there are bars representing age groups 12 to 17, 18 to 25, and 26 or older.

The percentage of persons using cigarettes in the past month was 11.9 percent among youths aged 12 to 17, 39.5 percent among young adults aged 18 to 25, and 24.1 percent among adults aged 26 or older.
The percentage of persons using cigars in the past month was 4.8 percent among youths aged 12 to 17, 12.7 percent among young adults aged 18 to 25, and 4.6 percent among adults aged 26 or older.
The percentage of persons using smokeless tobacco in the past month was 2.3 percent among youths aged 12 to 17, 4.9 percent among young adults aged 18 to 25, and 2.7 percent among adults aged 26 or older.
The percentage of persons using pipe tobacco in the past month was 0.7 percent among youths aged 12 to 17, 1.2 percent among young adults aged 18 to 25, and 0.7 percent among adults aged 26 or older.
