Figure 6.9 is titled "Disapproval of Peer Substance Use among Youths Aged 12 to 17, by Age: 2004." This is a bar graph, where substance use behaviors are shown on the horizontal axis, and the percentage disapproving is shown on the vertical axis. For each behavior category, there are bars representing persons aged 12 or 13, 14 or 15, and 16 or 17.

The percentage disapproving of peers smoking one of more packs of cigarettes per day was 92.8 percent among youths aged 12 or 13, 87.9 percent among youths aged 14 or 15, and 83.7 percent among youths aged 16 or 17.
The percentage disapproving of peers using marijuana once a month or more was 92.1 percent among youths aged 12 or 13, 81.3 percent among youths aged 14 or 15, and 71.3 percent among youths aged 16 or 17.
The percentage disapproving of peers having 1 or 2 drinks per day was 91.9 percent among youths aged 12 or 13, 83.9 percent among youths aged 14 or 15, and 79.3 percent of youths aged 16 or 17.
