Figure 8.6 is titled "Past Year Treatment for Depression among Persons Aged 12 or Older with a Major Depressive Episode in the Past Year, by Age and Gender: 2004." It is a bar graph, where age in years is shown on the horizontal axis, and the percentage receiving treatment in the past year is shown on the vertical axis. For each age category, there is a bar representing males and a bar representing females.

The percentage receiving treatment for depression in the past year among persons aged 12 or older with a major depressive episode (MDE) in the past year was 53.4 percent for males and 66.6 percent for females.
The percentage receiving treatment for depression in the past year among youths aged 12 to 17 with an MDE in the past year was 37.7 percent for males and 41.3 percent for females.
The percentage receiving treatment for depression in the past year among young adults aged 18 to 25 with an MDE in the past year was 37.9 percent for males and 50.8 percent for females.
The percentage receiving treatment for depression in the past year among adults aged 26 or older with an MDE in the past year was 59.4 percent for males and 74.6 percent for females.
