Older Adults Resource Collection: Introduction

This installment of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Disaster Behavioral Health Information Series contains a variety of disaster behavioral health materials designed to directly benefit older adults and their families and caregivers. It is organized into four categories: (1) books, (2) tips and guides, and (3) reports and presentations. View the collection's annotated bibliography, which contains links to each resource; and helpful links, which provide links to organizations, agencies, and other resources that address the issues faced by older adults and their families and caregivers.

  • Supporters and Caregivers—Information on traumatic stress and appropriate guidelines for helping older adults to cope
  • Professionals—Specific information regarding disaster planning and community awareness for healthcare providers and government officials
