SAMHSA Awards More Than $1.2 Million for Statewide Family Network Grants

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) today announced the award of six grants totaling approximately $1.2 million over three years to state-based organizations focused on improving programs serving children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances.

“Active family network organizations are key to ensuring local mental health and community support services are meeting the needs of children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances and their families,” said SAMHSA Acting Administrator Eric Broderick, D.D.S., M.P.H. “These new awards will help even more family networks engage in the development and delivery of community based systems of care for children and families in need."

The six awards under the Statewide Family Network Program are funded up to $70,000 per year in total costs. Continuation of these awards is subject to the availability of funds as well as the progress achieved by the grantees. The grants are administered by SAMHSA’s Center for Mental Health Services. The grantees are:

  • Ohio Federation for Children’s Mental Health, Cincinnati, Ohio, $70,000
  • Mountain State Parents, Children, & Adolescents, McMechen, West Virginia, $70,000
  • Arkansas Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health, Little Rock, Arkansas, $70,000
  • Oregon Family Support Network, Inc., Marylhurst, Oregon., $70,000
  • Illinois Federation of Families for Children’s Mental, McHenry, Illinois, $60,000
  • North Dakota Federation of Families for Children, Bismarck, North Dakota., $70,000
