Abstract

This paper describes the interaction between a micro-history of recovery and a personal recovery history. It begins with a narrative of the author's own recovery experience as he participates in a series of recovery initiatives in a Midwestern state. The impact of these history-graded experiences on his human life-span development is then examined in the context of recovery. Lessons learned are discussed, and some conclusions are drawn.
