Parents and youth as partners in the design, development and decision making processes of a conumer needs based service delivery system is summed up on our theme of "Families Matter" when it comes to successful children's mental health services.
The Idaho Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health (IFFCMH) seeks to continue the development and implementation of a statewide integrated system of family advocacy services for families of children with mental, behavioral and emotional disorders throughout Idaho. The primary focus consists of two parts: 1. outreach to those families in rural/frontier areas, as well as urban, to provide information, education and training to famiiies and children/adolescents in order to increase their understanding, involvement, and desision making in policies, programs, services, and evaluation of such related to children's mental health services as a system and as an adult/sibling/child facing the challenges of dealing with a severe emotional disorder (SED) and 2. to strengthen the coalition among families, youth, servide providers, policymakers, and communities.

United Way Treasure Valley, in collaboration with many community partners, is seeking start-up operational funding for the Region IV Substance Abuse and Mental Health Crisis Center located in the City of Boise, County of Ada, State of Idaho, that will serve low-income and indigent individuals in need of its services throughout the counties comprising the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's Region IV (Ada, Boise, Elmore, and Valley counties). The scope of the Center is three-fold: a sobering station that will act as a safe environment for people whose impairment due to alcohol intoxication is judged to put themselves and the greater community at risk; a 12-bed detoxification facility operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week whose average length of stay will be 3-5 days to stabilize chronic addict's/alcoholic's physical condition and to afford medically-monitored care during this process; and an 8-bed, sub-acute psychiatric crisis stabilization unit operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week of similar duration designed to address psychiatric instability and divert expensive, acute pyschiatric hospitalization.
