2013 Voice Awards.

Nominate Consumer/Peer Leaders

Consumer/peer leaders who have been instrumental in educating the public about mental health and/or substance use disorders and made outstanding contributions in all of the following areas were eligible for a 2013 Voice Award.

  • Led efforts to promote the social inclusion of people with behavioral health problems;
  • Personally demonstrated that recovery is real and possible; and
  • Made a positive impact on his/her community, workplace, or school.

Nominations were open to anyone and were free. There was no limit to the number of nominations an individual could submit, and self-nominations were welcome.

For the purposes of the Voice Awards, the term “consumer/peer leader” is defined broadly as an individual who has received or is receiving services for a mental health and/or substance use disorder.
