2010 Treatment Episodes Data Set (TEDS) Annual Report

These reports present data from the TEDS about admission and discharges from substance use treatment services in 2010. 

Annual Report: Admissions

This is the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) National Admissions to Substance Abuse Treatment Services report for 2000-2010. This report provides information on the demographic and substance abuse characteristics of admissions to treatment aged 12 and older for abuse of alcohol and/or drugs in facilities that report to individual State administrative data systems.

Annual Report: State Admissions

This is the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) State Admissions to Substance Abuse Treatment Services report. This report presents data by Census division and State or jurisdiction for admissions in 2010 and trend data for 2000 to 2010. Demographic and substance abuse characteristics are reported for admissions to treatment aged 12 and older for abuse of alcohol and/or drugs in facilities that report to individual State administrative data systems.

Annual Report: Discharges

This annual report presents data for 2010 from the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) on the demographic and substance abuse characteristics of substance abuse treatment discharges aged 12 and older in facilities that report to individual State administrative data systems.

Data Review

This report presents an evaluation of the coverage, overlap, biases, strengths, and weaknesses of three sources of data on the receipt of specialty substance use treatment: the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), the National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS), and the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS). Specialty substance use treatment measures compared include numbers and characteristics of persons treated in a given year, single-day treatment counts, numbers of admissions in a given year, and estimates of the numbers of persons who needed substance use treatment but did not receive it. This report includes data from the 2005 through 2010 NSDUHs; 2007 through 2009 N-SSATS; and 2007 through 2009 TEDS. Results are show by substance treated, age, race/ethnicity, and employment status,
