Depression

Depression is a common and serious mental health condition affecting the lives of many Americans. People with depression may also struggle to access adequate treatment. SAMHSA staff collects and analyzes data on the prevalence of depression, associated factors, treatment use by those affected, and the mental health system. This information helps public health officials better understand, respond to, and prevent depression.
