This installment of the SAMHSA Disaster Behavioral Health Information Series (DBHIS) focuses on the disaster-related funding opportunities available to state, territory, tribal, and local governments, as well as some nonprofit organizations.
After a disaster occurs, state and local entities may need assistance in the recovery and rebuilding of their communities. The federal government, foundations, and some organizations have made grant funds available to help jurisdictions and organizations rebuild after disasters, and to support them in preparing for emergencies in the future.
The resources listed below can be used by disaster coordinators, emergency managers, and public health preparedness personnel to apply for grant funds to assist in rebuilding their communities after a disaster or emergency. Please note that many of the grant opportunities listed are subject to eligibility based on agency affiliation and disaster need.
