Shield of Resilience Training
This 1-hour online training helps law enforcement officers to better understand and address behavioral health stressors unique to law enforcement.
This course is free, online, and self-paced. Course participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
This course is designed to help law enforcement officers understand:
- The unique stressors that law enforcement officers are exposed to in the course of their duties
- How to recognize the signs and symptoms of acute and chronic stress, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder
- The signs and symptoms of suicidal ideation and how to talk with a fellow officer who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts
- How to facilitate peer-to-peer behavioral health support
- The resources and support tools that help build resiliency
- Where to find help and support for themselves or fellow officers
This training course must be completed in one session. The course cannot be restarted.
Please check with your department’s and/or agency’s training officer to determine if this course can help you meet certification and licensing requirements for law enforcement officers in your state.
