Title: Tribal Opioid Response Grants
Project Period: 2020/09/30 - 2022/09/29
Short Title: TOR The proposed ESR Tribal Opioid Response II (TOR) project will provide evidence-based services and practices for 20 tribal members (10 each year) with OUD and other stimulant misuse and use disorders on the Wind River Reservation. Participants of the TOR II project will be adults, ages 18 and over, who have OUD and other stimulant disorders. Participants will be tribal members and will include both males and females. Clients served by the TOR will live on or near the Wind River Reservation. ESR will implement required TOR II activities to and meet the two goals and seven objectives below. Goal 1: Update the TOR I comprehensive strategic plan for preventing and treating OUD at Eastern Shoshone by October 31, 2020 by working with existing partners, documenting current gaps, and updating the existing strategic plan to identify integration of workforce development and alternative activities for opioid use disorders. Goal 2: Increase access to OUD and other stimulant disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery support services for 20 tribal members served by ESR by August 31, 2022 by partnering with tribal wellness courts, using hub and spoke model to provide MAT services, and in-person and telehealth services to clients. ESR will evaluate the 2-year project using Indigenous evaluation tools and the required GPRA tool to determine effectiveness, document challenges, and success, and provide recommendations for future work. Community events will also be utilized such as the Gathering of Native Americans (GONA), a recognized evidence-based prevention tool along with community sweats and traditional activities. In total, at least 500 tribal members will be served through the TOR II efforts providing effective and everlasting change to OUD recovery and prevention.
