Intergovernmental Review (E.O. 12372): Applicants must comply with E.O. 12372 if their state(s) participates. Review process recommendations from the State Single Point of Contact (SPOC) are due no later than 60 days after application deadline.
Public Health System Impact Statement (PHSIS) / Single State Agency Coordination: Applicants must send the PHSIS to appropriate State and local health agencies by application deadline. Comments from Single State Agency are due no later than 60 days after application deadline.
Description
The purpose of this program is to prevent and reduce suicidal behavior and substance use/misuse, reduce the impact of trauma, and promote mental health among American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth, up to and including age 24, by building a healthy network of systems, services, and partnerships that impact youth.
This NOFO will remain open for three fiscal years.
The following are the due dates for each FY:
- FY 2023: Applications are due by May 15, 2023
- FY 2024: Applications are due by May 15, 2024
- FY 2025: Applications are due by May 15, 2025
Applications submitted by the due date will be reviewed and funding decisions will be made by the end of the FY.
Applicants that do not receive funding are eligible to apply for the following fiscal year.
Eligibility
Eligibility is limited to federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) tribes, tribal organizations, Urban Indian Organizations, or consortia of tribes or tribal organizations.

Cost Sharing/Match Required?: No
Proposed budgets cannot exceed $250,000 in total costs (direct and indirect) in any year of the proposed project. Annual continuation awards will depend on the availability of funds, grantee progress in meeting project goals and objectives, timely submission of required data and reports, and compliance with all terms and conditions of award.
