Public Health System Impact Statement (PHSIS) / Single State Agency Coordination: Applicants must send the PHSIS to appropriate State and local health agencies by application deadline. Comments from Single State Agency are due no later than 60 days after application deadline.

Description

The purpose of this program is to implement regional centers of excellence to develop and disseminate training and technical assistance addressing opioid and stimulant misuse affecting rural communities. Recipients are expected to facilitate the identification of model programs, develop and update materials related to the prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery activities for opioid use disorder (OUD) and/or stimulant use disorder, and ensure that high-quality training is provided.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are public or nonprofit entities, States, political subdivisions of States, Indian tribes, or tribal organizations, health facilities, or programs operated by or in accordance with a contract or grant with the Indian Health Service.

Award Information

Funding Mechanism: Cooperative Agreement

Anticipated Total Available Funding: $6,500,000

Anticipated Number of Awards: Up to 10 awards

Anticipated Award Amount: Up to $650,000 per year per award

Length of Project: Two years

Cost Sharing/Match Required?: No

Proposed budgets cannot exceed $650,000 in total costs (direct and indirect) in any year of the proposed project. Annual continuation awards will depend on the availability of funds, grantee progress in meeting project goals and objectives, timely submission of required data and reports, and compliance with all terms and conditions of award.
