The Peer Support & Recovery Enhancement Project is designed to improve the overall quality of mental health services statewide, by training the peer support workforce, educate providers and the general public on recovery practices including trauma informed care and enhance organizational infrastructure by strengthening consumer voice and leadership statewide. This project will serve mental health consumers, veterans, youth, Native Americans, potential peer supporters and professional peer supporters in Montana. The three main activities of this project are (1) to improve the overall quality of mental health services statewide by promoting evidence-based and promising practices by peer supporters that are recovery oriented, culturally aware and trauma informed; (2) to enhance our organizational infrastructure and increase membership to strengthen consumer voice and leadership through the development of community-based affiliates across the state, leveraging existing signature programs such as Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies, Recovery Talks, and Peer Support 101; and (3) to enhance existing partnerships with stakeholders and build new pathways of collaboration with Native American, veteran, and cross disability groups to achieve long term strategic and project goals. The long range vision is a highly trained peer support workforce and Montana's Peer Network positioned as a leader in accessible recovery, support and leadership training.

Through the Voices United for Hope, Recovery and Empowerment project, NAMI Missouri will cultivate, train, and empower new consumer leaders and expand network participation. Central to this project is the identification, training, and ongoing support of peers who will serve as mentors and new leaders. This project will have a distinct focus on military veterans and young adult consumers as well as partnership with the MO Recovery Network to increase network participation among persons recovering from substance use. The Veteran's Council will advise on matters of military culture and outreach. The NAMI On Campus groups will assist in engaging young adults and cultivating peer leaders. The NCCTS provides leadership, organizational structure, and coordination to funded centers and Affiliates; strategic and community partners; family, consumer, and youth advocacy groups, and representatives of major child serving systems and professional organizations. The NCCTS will: 1) maintain and improve the Network's information technology infrastructure, program management, and procedures for collaborative NCTSN functioning and public access to information and training; 2) working collaboratively to transform child-serving systems into trauma-informed systems of care; 3) strengthen and expand support for Network product development and dissemination; 4) incorporate implementation science into NCTSN training and dissemination efforts; 5) expand programs to disseminate in-person and virtual training to support child trauma education and training across all ten SAMHSA regions; 6) ensure proposed activities adhere to national standards for providing services across demographic, language, literacy, culture, and disability groups; 7) support data collection and dataset management and storage from the NCTSN and partnering service organizations; 8) summarize, analyze, and report results describing trauma history profiles of NCTSN service populations, characteristics of prevalent trauma responses, outcomes of trauma assessments and interventions, and adoption of trauma-informed interventions and practices; 9) provide consultation and technical assistance on data collection, scoring and interpretation of measures, and treatment protocols; 10) ) utilize NCTSN data to refine NCCTS understanding of the impact of trauma and trauma interventions to inform the NCCTS work.

This will be done in collaboration with Capital Region Mental Health Center in Hartford and Greater Bridgeport Community Mental Health Center. As an initiative that includes statewide classes, workshops, support groups, and two mind-body focused wellness centers, Toivo by Advocacy Unlimited is uniquely positioned to teach peer-led mind-body wellness practices. The Toivo team is comprised of people in recovery who have received multiple trainings and certifications in these practices. We will teach a number of practices including yoga, Qigong, mindfulness, sound healing, and deep breathing techniques. The project will be accomplished through the following three objectives: 1) Develop a peer-led model for an inpatient setting that will integrate mind-body wellness practices and establish an advisory committee responsible for promoting and guiding processes and activities throughout the project; 2) Providing training on mind-body wellness practices to consumers, recovery support specialists (certified peer specialists), and clinical staff; 3) Disseminating project results at a public symposium in order to promote adoption of the Healing from Within model through the State of Connecticut including the private hospital sector.

United Self-Help (USH) proposes to expand its current capacity to serve, support, and advocate on behalf of adults 18 years of age and older across the State of Hawaii with serious mental illness (SMI) or co-occurring SMI and substance use disorders (COD). The Consumer Empowerment Project aims to (1) empower mental health consumers/survivors to successfully advocate for themselves and others, (2) enhance peer specialists' knowledge and abilities to promote effective and quality peer support practices, (3) strengthen the organization's business practices to sustain our infrastructure and legacy, and (4) establish new support groups that are gender-responsive, trauma-informed, and culturally and linguistically relevant. Consumers will gain self-empowerment skills through the establishment and implementation of a leadership and recovery training, through the expansion of peer support groups across the state, through the development of linguistically and culturally relevant outreach and mutual support efforts, and through online support and training for peer support specialists and others professionals in the workforce. The Consumer Empowerment Project aims to (1) empower mental health consumers/survivors to successfully advocate for themselves and others, (2) enhance peer specialists' knowledge and abilities to promote effective and quality peer support practices, (3) strengthen the organization's business practices to sustain our infrastructure and legacy, and (4) establish new support groups that are gender-responsive, trauma-informed, and culturally and linguistically relevant. Consumers will gain self-empowerment skills through the establishment and implementation of a leadership and recovery training, through the expansion of peer support groups across the state, through the development of linguistically and culturally relevant outreach and mutual support efforts, and through online support and training for peer support specialists and others professionals in the workforce. USH also proposes to become the first accredited and credentialed consumer-run and -controlled organization in the State of Hawaii, leveraging grant funds, while also building the organization's internal infrastructure to ensure sustainability via organization assessments and performance improvement activities.

NAMI New Hampshire (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will provide New Hampshire families and youth with serious emotional disturbances (SED) with the framework and infrastructure (the New Hampshire Family Network) to improve outcomes for children/youth with SED and transform the state's children's behavioral health system to ultimately create improved population health outcomes.
