Project Description The coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: Providing information to groups in the community and encourage participation in SAPCA activities; share local youth substance abuse data with community partners and decision makers; use data from various sources to provide SAPCA leaders with information and training to successfully lead the coalition; build the cultural competence of coalition members; reduce barriers for youth to participate in SAPCA's leadership; provide information to parents on the availability of alcohol; build skills of parents to talk to youth about the dangers of alcohol; enhance barriers to youth gaining access to alcohol; change the consequences of providing alcohol to minors; modify the policy to reduce youth access to alcohol; build refusal skills of youth surrounding alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana; modify the school policy to discourage youth drinking; modify policy to limit youth tobacco sales; and reduce barriers and enhance access to marijuana information...
