Requesting Prior Approval for Rent Costs

Before charging rent costs to a project, get prior approval from the grants management officer (GMO).

Grantees must submit a written request for approval to charge rent costs to a project. You must describe in detail how the amount you claim for rent is calculated by including:

  • The individual cost items that make up the total cost of the building
  • The methodology used to allocate the costs to the programs or activities operated in the building
  • Supporting documents
