  • Partners: More than 40 national and local organizations and federal agencies partnered with SAMHSA to spread the word about NPW and engage their communities in prevention efforts.

Promotional Video: Making Each Day Count

The NPW 2017 Making Each Day Count promotional video shared a positive message about how substance use prevention and behavioral health are as important as physical health and how communities are making each day count in their prevention efforts.

Prevention Challenge: #PreventionPower

SAMHSA’s #PreventionPower social media challenge was a way for individuals, organizations, and communities to start discussing prevention and highlight how they get involved in prevention activities. Participants in the challenge could then motivate others to take part in the Prevention challenge as well.

Kick-off Event

To kick off NPW 2017, SAMHSA held an event at The George Washington University in Washington, DC, on Monday, May 15. The event, shared via a live webcast, featured prevention work from several community organizations. More than 150 viewers watched the live webcast.
